WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2024: What We Loved and Hated
Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s annual review of “WWE NXT” Halloween Havoc 2024! This year’s Premium Live Event (PLE) was a mixed bag, leaving us with a range of feelings. While we had our share of moments we loved, they were fewer than usual, making it a challenge to highlight them. In contrast, the things we hated were plentiful, giving us plenty to discuss.
We’ll cover most of the five-match card, from Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer’s tag team victory to the Ambulance Match and the Gauntlet Match. However, we won’t delve into Tony D’Angelo’s second win against Oba Femi, which was generally fine and detailed on our Halloween Havoc results page. Instead, let’s focus on the highlights and lowlights from this year’s event, or as we like to call it, the “tricks and treats” of Halloween Havoc 2024!
Loved: Regal’s Return with King and Dempsey
One of the standout moments came during a backstage segment when William Regal returned to assist Lexis King in his upcoming Heritage Cup Match against Regal’s own son, Charlie Dempsey. This unexpected pairing has the potential to ignite King’s storyline, especially as he’s been increasingly acknowledging his father, the late Brian Pillman.
Regal’s involvement in NXT has been sporadic since his return to WWE, mostly limited to cameo appearances. His recent participation hints at a more prominent role in shaping the future of both King and Dempsey. Given that the Heritage Cup has felt somewhat stagnant lately, Regal’s presence could bring much-needed energy and intrigue.
The connection between Regal, King, and Dempsey opens the door for various narrative possibilities, including heel turns and character developments. As both King and Dempsey look for more direction in their careers, Regal’s expertise as “The Gentleman Villain” could guide them through potential twists and turns, making for an exciting storyline ahead.
This intriguing angle might not only refresh the Heritage Cup narrative but could also elevate both young talents in the process, creating a captivating dynamic for the NXT audience.
