Retired WWE Star Shares Thoughts on Vince McMahon Documentary: ‘I Don’t Have Any Bad Words for Vince’
The Netflix docuseries Mr. McMahon, focusing on Vince McMahon’s career and controversies, has stirred conversations among former WWE stars who worked closely with the former WWE CEO. Despite the negative stories surrounding McMahon in recent years, retired WWE star Titus O’Neil has nothing but respect for his former boss.
O’Neil, who spent a decade under McMahon’s leadership, shared his thoughts in an interview with Us Weekly, acknowledging McMahon’s lasting impact on the wrestling industry. While O’Neil is aware of the scandals, he remains grateful for the opportunities McMahon provided him and many others in WWE.
“At the end of the day, what he built cannot be erased. It’s unfortunate how things unfolded, but I don’t have any bad words for Vince,” O’Neil stated. “Hearing different perspectives is interesting, but I’ll always be thankful for what Vince McMahon built. The platform he created for so many people is undeniable. He’s human, just like anyone else.”
O’Neil himself had a well-known incident with McMahon when he was suspended for 60 days after briefly grabbing McMahon’s arm on-screen. However, even that didn’t change his positive view of the former WWE Chairman.
Initially, McMahon was involved in the production of the six-part docuseries, but he distanced himself after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced in 2022. McMahon has since criticized the series, accusing the creators of misrepresenting him and crafting a biased narrative. There were even reports that McMahon attempted to buy back the rights to the series before its release.
Despite the controversies, O’Neil’s loyalty to the man who helped shape his WWE career remains intact.
