AEW’s Mercedes Mone Discusses Possibility Of WWE Return

Before debuting in All Elite Wrestling, Mercedes Mone was vocal about her interest in returning to WWE someday, stating she had “unfinished business.” However, six months into her AEW journey, Mone’s stance seems to have shifted. During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, she was asked if she would consider returning to WWE under the right circumstances, including financial terms and legal rights.

“After the way AEW has been treating me, I don’t know,” Mone responded. “I don’t think so. Right now, I feel like I have the best relationship with AEW. I’m living my absolute dream, mentally and physically, and after being in the industry for 14 years, to have new dreams is the best feeling in the world. AEW is my home right now.”

Since joining AEW in March, Mone has quickly become a dominant force in the women’s division. She currently holds both the TBS Championship and the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship. Most recently, Mone successfully defended her TBS title against Hikaru Shida at AEW All Out, and her enforcer, Kamille, later joined in the post-match celebration.

Mone’s previous stint in WWE lasted a decade, during which she collected multiple titles, including the WWE Raw, WWE SmackDown, and NXT Women’s Championships. However, her departure from WWE in May 2022 came during her third reign as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, following creative differences and frustrations. Mone and her tag team partner, Naomi, famously walked out after feeling disrespected on the day of their final appearance.

Now fully immersed in AEW, Mone seems content with her current role, casting doubt on a potential WWE return despite her earlier ambitions.
