WWE NXT’s Wes Lee Survives Street Fight Against Former Friend
Wes Lee triumphed over Zachary Wentz in a brutal Street Fight during the premiere of “WWE NXT” on The CW. The match featured high-risk maneuvers and intense violence, culminating in Lee executing a chain-assisted meteora through a steel chair to secure the victory.
The turning point in the match came when Wentz, who had been in control, hesitated emotionally as he stood over his former tag team partner, steel chair in hand. “I don’t want to do this,” he screamed, which provided Lee with the opening he needed to capitalize on Wentz’s reluctance and ultimately emerge victorious.
With this win, Lee avenged his earlier loss to Wentz at “WWE NXT No Mercy” earlier in September. Should this match mark the conclusion of their rivalry, it could also signify a setback for Wentz’s crossover to WWE from TNA. Wentz and his tag partner, Trey Miguel, had earned a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships in September. However, Miguel was later removed from television due to a storyline involving a parking lot ambush by Lee, which was reportedly influenced by Miguel’s need for minor surgery.
