Bully Ray Reflects on Jey Uso’s Intercontinental Title Win on WWE Raw
Following Jey Uso’s capture of his first singles championship on “WWE Raw” this week, congratulations poured in from colleagues and even his father, Rikishi. “I was surprised because just yesterday, or maybe last week, we were discussing this and I thought, ‘No, I don’t think Jey needs to win. It might be too early to take the title off Bron [Breakker],'” Ray recalled. “I’m not sure why they made that decision last night. Maybe it was to create a memorable moment on ‘Monday Night Raw,’ or maybe they wanted to surprise the audience. Regardless, I loved it.”
Ray emphasized that while Uso didn’t require a singles title to validate his in-ring abilities, he had already gained significant fan support organically. He also highlighted the significance of the title pursuit, noting Uso’s quick ascent to the Intercontinental Championship within just a few weeks, mirroring Breakker’s short reign before him.
