Bully Ray Analyzes WWE’s Creative Options for NXT Women’s Title Match on CW Premiere
As WWE NXT prepares to make its debut on The CW Network in Chicago this Tuesday, all eyes are on the highly anticipated NXT Women’s Championship match between reigning champion Roxanne Perez and international star Giulia. Despite having only a handful of WWE matches under her belt, Giulia has quickly risen to the NXT main event scene, setting the stage for a compelling title clash.
During a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray shared his thoughts on the match’s creative possibilities. “I’m a fan of shock and awe,” Bully said. “If Giulia were to defeat Roxanne right out of the gate … wow. That would be huge. But then the question becomes, what does that leave for Roxanne?”
While Bully believes Giulia is ready to be NXT Women’s Champion, he emphasized the need to carefully consider what’s next for Perez. Losing the title could be detrimental to Perez’s momentum if WWE doesn’t have a clear plan in place for her future. Bully suggested that it might be better for Perez to remain quiet until January’s Royal Rumble, where she could be positioned as a rising star or perhaps begin a feud with someone on the main roster.
“[Perez] might be ready for the main roster,” Bully noted, “but if there’s nothing specific for her up there yet, it could be in her best interest to stay under the radar for a bit.”
Regardless of the outcome between Perez and Giulia, the winner will have to contend with Stephanie Vaquer, who issued a challenge on NXT’s final episode on the USA Network. Additionally, the CW premiere will feature another major bout, with NXT Champion Ethan Page defending his title against Trick Williams, with none other than former WWE Champion CM Punk serving as the special guest referee.
