Bruce Prichard Thinks Polarizing Former WWE Personality Deserves a Hall of Fame Spot

Over the past 31 years, WWE has inducted countless wrestlers, managers, and celebrities into its Hall of Fame, with this year’s class led by Paul Heyman. During a recent episode of Something to Wrestle, WWE producer Bruce Prichard shared his thoughts on the possibility of honoring a controversial figure: Jim Cornette. While Prichard acknowledged that Cornette might not want him to do the honors, he firmly believes Cornette is worthy of induction.

“I don’t think Jim would want me to [personally] induct him. But I’d be honored to do it,” Prichard admitted. “I like Jim a lot. To this day, I don’t know what happened to our friendship, and I’m not going to focus on the negative stuff. I love Jim, and I think he absolutely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. I hope it happens one day.”

When asked who he’d envision inducting Cornette and The Midnight Express—specifically Dennis Condrey, Stan Lane, and Bobby Eaton—Prichard suggested Paul Heyman. He referenced Heyman’s famous feud with the “new” Midnight Express (Lane and Eaton) while managing the Original Midnight Express (Condrey and Randy Rose) during the Jim Crockett Promotions era.

Beyond managing, Cornette has worn many hats in the wrestling world, including commentator, booker, agent, and promoter. He has also stepped into the ring on occasion, with matches across WWE, Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and the National Wrestling Alliance. Despite his controversial persona, Prichard believes Cornette’s contributions to the industry make him a deserving candidate for the WWE Hall of Fame.
