Tommy Dreamer Reflects on WWE Raw’s Pace and Build-Up to WWE Bad Blood
Tommy Dreamer, known for his ECW legacy, shared his thoughts on this week’s edition of “WWE Raw” during a recent segment of “Busted Open After Dark.” He expressed being “taken aback” by what he perceived as a more cautious approach, contrasting it with previous weeks where WWE seemed to be ramping up the excitement.
“We had some incredible moments with an outstanding tag team match and a gripping main event where Jey Uso became the new Intercontinental Champion,” Dreamer commented. “The wrestling and storytelling were top-notch, everything you’d want in a three-hour show. However, it felt somewhat safe to me, possibly because we’re gearing up for WWE Bad Blood next week.”
Dreamer likened the situation to a poker game, where WWE is strategically laying out its cards ahead of the big event. “You’re revealing your hand and seeing how the table reacts. This episode was crucial in setting the stage, especially with a significant title change. Overall, I’d give this show an eight out of ten.”
With one more “Raw” episode left before WWE Bad Blood 2024, Dreamer noted that this week’s focus seemed primarily on setting up storylines for the upcoming pay-per-view. Key segments included Rhea Ripley’s announcement about Dominik Mysterio’s involvement in her Women’s World Championship match, Drew McIntyre’s response to CM Punk’s recent promo, and Damian Priest reflecting on his history with opponent Finn Balor ahead of Bad Blood.
