Update On The TNA Contract Status Of Matt & Jeff Hardy
Matt & Jeff Hardy Sign One-Year Deals with TNA After Successful Tryout Period
Matt and Jeff Hardy have officially signed contracts with TNA after months of working under handshake agreements, following reports that they were performing without formal contracts earlier in 2024. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Matt Hardy shared that their time with TNA began with a handshake deal, which included them winning the TNA World Tag Team Titles and holding them for about a month.
“We worked on a handshake deal all the way through winning the titles and holding them for a month,” Matt explained. “It’s been a great relationship built on trust between us and TNA management. Everything they promised us, they followed through with, and everything we said we would do, we did. It just feels right.”
Fightful Select later confirmed that the Hardy Brothers are now officially signed to one-year contracts with TNA, which will keep them with the company through November 2025. These deals also allow them to take independent bookings outside of TNA, giving them flexibility to work additional dates.
Matt Hardy, who rejoined TNA first after his AEW contract expired, was soon followed by Jeff. According to Matt, Jeff has been particularly enjoying this latest chapter in TNA, with both brothers feeling a renewed sense of confidence and excitement in their work.
“Jeff is really enjoying this run in TNA,” Matt said. “He’s feeling confident. Just last week, we were in Fayetteville, NC, where we won our first major tag team titles in 1999. It was a special moment.”
The Hardys have not only been enjoying working alongside the current TNA talent but have also been thrilled by the enthusiastic response from the promotion’s fanbase. Matt expressed that the energy from the crowd has made them feel as though they’ve “turned back time,” rekindling the magic of their iconic tag team days.
“It’s like we turned back time,” Matt said. “Everything is clicking. We’re very happy with what we’re doing here, and we’re committed to helping TNA rebuild and become one of the top brands in professional wrestling again.”
The Hardys’ new contracts mark a significant milestone in their storied career, as they continue to bring their legendary tag team presence to TNA, and with the fans’ support, the Hardys are eager to help shape the company’s future.
