Tony D’Angelo Discusses Advice from John Cena and CM Punk
As WWE evolves, legendary figures like John Cena and CM Punk frequently visit “WWE NXT” to share their experiences and insights with the next generation of wrestlers. In a recent interview with “MuscleManMalcolm,” current NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo reflected on the valuable advice he received from both Cena and Punk.
Cena’s Encouragement
D’Angelo recounted Cena’s visit to the NXT roster, where the iconic wrestler shared wisdom that resonated with the young talents. He emphasized the importance of focusing on their craft and maintaining a positive mindset.
“Cena came in and talked to the whole roster and gave us some good advice,” D’Angelo noted.
Punk’s Insight on Social Media
D’Angelo also highlighted CM Punk’s ongoing presence in NXT, where he actively watches matches and provides feedback. Punk advised D’Angelo to ignore social media negativity, recognizing the distractions and potential harm it can cause.
“He told me, ‘You don’t let social media — just don’t look at it, ’cause when you’re in the spotlight, you got a lot of people saying a lot of crap in the comments,'” D’Angelo shared.
Navigating Online Criticism
While D’Angelo acknowledged he hasn’t faced the same level of scrutiny as Punk, he understands the challenges that come with public visibility. He advised that many should heed Punk’s advice about social media’s toxicity.
“They’re not paying your bills … I think the boss is more important, that’s my opinion,” D’Angelo remarked, emphasizing the need to prioritize constructive feedback over online criticism.
