Karrion Kross Reflects On Working With Drew McIntyre & Attacking Him In WWE Return

Karrion Kross recently reflected on his return to WWE in 2022, which saw him immediately target Drew McIntyre in a heated rivalry that culminated in a match at Crown Jewel later that year. In an interview with Notsam Wrestling, Kross described the feud as “unbelievable,” calling it “the perfect way to be reintroduced” to WWE. He emphasized that the storyline was exactly what he could have hoped for in terms of re-establishing himself within the company.

Kross also shared his experience working with McIntyre during WWE’s European tour, where he was struck by just how imposing McIntyre is in person. He described McIntyre as being far larger in real life than fans might realize, adding that the “Scottish Psychopath” is an intimidating presence.

In order to make his confrontation with McIntyre feel more realistic, Kross felt the need to bulk up to match his opponent’s size. However, he admitted that he ended up consuming more calories than necessary in the process. “I got real big and then I got – what I felt – was too big,” Kross confessed. He revealed that he put on about 15 pounds over a short period of two to three months, which he didn’t feel comfortable with. The added weight made him feel less agile, leading him to adjust his training and diet. Ultimately, Kross said that he’s now at a “perfect” weight and feels “sharp” and mobile again.

This insight into Kross’s preparation for his return and his approach to working with McIntyre highlights the level of dedication he has to ensuring his in-ring persona is as impactful as possible. His focus on physique and realism in his matches shows a deep understanding of what it takes to be a top performer in WWE
