The popularity of The Bloodline faction has brought even more attention to the legendary Anoa’i family, with the storyline weaving in several family members, potentially setting the stage for a civil war angle within the group. Jey Uso has hinted in the past at the possibility of more young Samoans joining the ranks, and now, Rikishi, the WWE Hall of Famer, has spoken about his youngest son, Samson Fatu, possibly one day joining the wrestling world.
On his podcast, “Rikishi Fatu Off The Top,” the veteran wrestler shared his thoughts on his son’s potential future in WWE, noting that while Samson has shown some interest in the business, there are also other paths that could be considered.
“He sounds like he has a little bit of interest,” Rikishi said, discussing his son’s prospects. “If, in case, the day comes, you know, where Sampson decides to [become a wrestler], I’m gonna have no worries.” Rikishi pointed out that Samson has been immersed in the world of wrestling since he was five years old and is already an imposing figure at six foot five inches at just sixteen. The proud father speculated that Samson could grow to be around six foot eight.
Despite his obvious pride in his son’s growth and development, Rikishi also acknowledged that he would prefer Samson to consider alternatives to wrestling, such as acting. “I’d rather him go possibly do acting, you know, do a Marvel movie or something like that, you know, less abuse on his body,” Rikishi joked, illustrating his concern for the physical toll the wrestling business can take on an individual.
Rikishi also shared a heartwarming memory of taking Samson to a WWE live event, describing him as the “baby of the family.” He noted how excited Samson was to watch his relatives—like The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Jacob Fatu—in action, emphasizing how special it was for him to witness his family’s continued success.
“It’s just those little things—you can’t let it bypass you as far as: what a blessing,” Rikishi reflected. “It was a beautiful thing as parents to be able to watch the kids out there.”
The Future of Samson Fatu in Wrestling
While Rikishi seems open to his son pursuing a wrestling career, it’s clear that he values Samson’s well-being above all, especially considering the physical demands of the business. However, should Samson eventually decide to join WWE, he would have an exceptional legacy to draw from, with support and mentorship from his iconic family.
With the Anoa’i family’s ongoing success in WWE, particularly with The Bloodline, fans are already speculating about the potential future stars in the next generation. Should Samson Fatu choose to follow in the footsteps of his father and uncles, it’s clear that he would have a bright future in the business. But as Rikishi wisely noted, timing and choices will ultimately determine whether Samson follows the wrestling path or pursues other avenues, such as acting or perhaps even something else.
